Edward M. Caner
Edward Caner is a full-time lecturer in the Department of Physics and Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). His main focus is directing the Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program, a Master of Science degree where students study science, business, and innovation while working on real-world projects with corporations or foundations. Mr. Caner has been named a KEEN Fellow through the Kern Family Foundation for his work at CWRU in spreading the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the entire campus. He is currently on the Board of Advisors for Symphony Acoustics, an early-stage microphone company in Albuquerque, NM and has invested in several small startups in Southern Colorado and the Cleveland area. He is also a managing partner for EFC and Associates, a consulting company specializing in entrepreneurial business development. Ed has assisted several colleges and universities throughout the world with curriculum development in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship, and enjoys giving speeches on this topic to a variety of audiences. Prior to his appointment at CWRU, he was the Director of the N2TEC Summer Institute/Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program for the State of South Dakota. He has also served as a volunteer technology, innovation, and arts consultant in Mozambique. Ed has a Master’s Degree in Physics and Entrepreneurship from CWRU, a master's degree in violin performance from Cleveland State University, and a BS in Engineering Physics from Miami University.
